Caucus for Patrick
What is precinct caucus?
Precinct caucuses are a political meeting with your neighbors. A caucus convener will lead the meeting and explain every step to you. At precinct caucus, you will:
- Elect precinct officers
- Elect delegates to BPOU conventions (Basic Political Organizational Unit)
- Review and vote on Republican Party Platform amendments and resolutions
- Vote in the Governor and U.S. Senate preferential poll
You are not required to run to be a delegate to the BPOU convention to vote in the Governor preferential poll, but we do encourage you to participate in the important grassroots process.
Who can attend a Republican caucus meeting?
- Must live in the precinct
- Must support the Republican Party of Minnesota
- Must be 18 by November 3, 2026 (date of the 2026 General Election)
Why is precinct caucus important?
Precinct caucus is the first step in a candidate’s endorsement process and the time and place to review and adopt any changes to the party platform. As a caucus participant, you get a voice on who gets elected to be delegates and which candidate ultimately receives the important “Republican Endorsement”.
